Background
The typical fantasy medieval guard is a common figure in most fantasy campaigns, and is strong, fast enough to keep up but not highly educated. He carries a sword and a spear, and knows a little about the city he guards. As a man trained simply to fight he can be intimidating, and is avoided by local thieves and vagabonds.
